Dear Lifesavers,

It is with a heavy heart that I must write to confirm that Keynsham Life Saving Club will be suspending training with immediate effect until further notice. Given the current climate, this will not come as a surprise, but it is still a sad day for the club.

Yesterday the KLSC management team took the difficult decision to suspend training. This afternoon I was preparing a statement to you, our members, when the Prime Minister announced further measures to help control the spread of corona virus, including the closure of leisure centres with immediate effect.

These are clearly uncertain times, but with the help and support of you - our amazing members, parents, instructors and committee members - the club can survive this challenging period in our history. We don't yet know when we'll be able to resume training (keep your eye on our website, Facebook Group and your e-mails for the latest news) but when we do re-start, we hope to be back at our home pool in Keynsham. Anyone who's already paid for this term, will be offered a 2-week credit to be redeemed against your summer term subs.

In the meantime you might like to test your lifesaving skills using these games from the UK Resuscitation Council:

We haven’t all worked this hard for this long to watch the Club go down the drain! Your support with the impact of this decision will be very much appreciated, and we look forward to your constructive feedback with any positive suggestions that might make a difference to the club moving forwards.

Thank you all for making Keynsham Life Saving Club more than just a sports club. With luck we will be able to weather this storm. The future is not set, but we are optimistic that we are in a strong enough position to survive. With your help and support we will achieve this!

Stay safe!
