Next year we hope to take a group of lifesavers from the RLSS West Region to the ResQ Cup in Germany. The ResQ cup is a big open-water lifesaving festival where the emphasis is on having fun and meeting new people. To prepare for the trip we'll spend the next year getting to know lifesavers from a club in Germany, then we'll meet up at the ResQ cup itself. One of the aims of the trip is to motivate young people to be active participants instead of passive consumers. This means that young lifesavers will be directly involved in organising and planning every aspect of the trip from the travel arrangements to the programme of events. The trip will take place from 22-27 Jul 2011 and is open to all lifesavers in the West Region aged from 14-19.
